This is the place where all your videos, images, music, and graphics are kept.

Source Monitor :

Preview the clip before you put it on the timeline.

Program Monitor :

Shows the final product of your editing work.

Timeline :

All editing is done in the timeline. You create a video by placing the clips there and performing all necessary actions to make your project look good.

Tools Panel :

The following tools are available there:

* Selection Tool
* Razor Tool
* Ripple Edit Tool
* Slip Tool
* Pen Tool
* Hand Tool

Step 1: Create a New Project

1. Open Adobe Premiere Pro.
2. Click **New Project**.
3. Enter your project name.
4. Choose the project location.
5. Click **Create**.

Your workspace is now ready.

Step 2: Import Media

Import all files needed for editing.

Go to:

**File → Import**

Or simply drag and drop your files into the Project Panel.

Supported media includes:

* Videos
* Photos
* Music
* Sound effects
* Logos

Arrange files in folders for better project organization.

Step 3: Create a Sequence

A sequence is your editing workspace.

You can:

* Drag a video clip to the timeline for the creation of an automatic sequence.
* Or click on **File → New → Sequence**, and choose your desired resolution and frame rate.

For YouTube, common settings include:

* 1920 × 1080 (Full HD)
* 3840 × 2160 (4K)
* 30 FPS or 60 FPS

Step 4: Timeline Editing Basics

Drag the clips to the timeline.

To remove unwanted parts:

* Select the clip.
* Move the playhead.
* Press **C** to activate the Razor Tool.
* Cut the clip.
* Delete unwanted sections.

Or trim the edge of the clips using the Selection Tool.

Step 5: Add Transitions

Transitions create smooth changes between clips.

Popular transitions include:

* Cross Dissolve
* Dip to Black
* Film Dissolve

To add one:

1. Access the **Effects** panel.
2. Find and expand **Video Transitions**.
3. Select a transition, dragging it between two separate clips.
4. Keep in mind, using an abundance of transitions should be avoided as a more simplistic approach to editing generally produces a better result.

Step 6: Add Titles and Text

To create titles:

1. Select the Type Tool.
2. Click inside the Program Monitor.
3. Type your text.
4. Customize:

   * Font
   * Size
   * Color
   * Position
   * Shadow
   * Background

Use clear, readable fonts for professional-looking videos.

Audio that is of good quality is as important as video.

* Reduce background noise
* Increase the volume of voice
* Fade in/out music
* Balance levels of dialogues

The Essential Sound panel allows you to improve your audio using presets.

Access the **Lumetri Color** panel to modify:

* Contrast
* Highlights
* Shadows
* Whites
* Blacks
* Saturation
* White Balance

Especially with beginner players, I would recommend minor adjustments rather than large changes.

Step 7: Enhance Audio

Just like good video, good audio is crucial too.

 Step 9: Add Music

Import your music and put it on the audio track below your video.

Ensure that the volume for the music is not too loud so that it doesn't drown out your narration.

It is always recommended to have background music at a lower level than narration.
